The students have been preparing for our School Musical and Spring Concert scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at 6:30PM in the school gymnasium.
The evening will begin with instrumental performances by our school bands, which include: 4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th/8th grade and our combined bands.
Following the instrumental performances, our school musical production for the 2023-2024 school year is ‘Adventures of a Comic Book Artist’. The book and lyrics are by Pat Lydersen. Music is by Wendy Woolf. This production is in special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, CO.
A summary of the Adventures of a Comic Book Artist … Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz wants nothing more than to become a comic book artist and create heroes and villians for the comic books he loves so much. As the janitor at Wonder Comics, he anxiously awaits the day that his boss, D.C. Wunderman, will see his drawings and give him a chance to have his superheroes come alive on the printed page.
Did you know that Our Lady of Lourdes School has a School Musical production alternating years? The preparation for these musicals are done during school music classes. The middle school students (typically 7th and 8th graders) have the first choice of lead roles in the musical. This allows all of our 7th and 8th graders an opportunity to play a key role in each production.
On the alternating years, our Spanish program has an end of year production with students in grades K-8. It is commonly referred to as Spanish Show-Off night and includes a variety of activities ranging from song, dance, skits, stories and more.
We hope that you will join us on Thursday, May 9 in the school gymnasium for the student performances!
