This week, Knight Richard Porior, from the De Pere Council 3955 of the Knights of Columbus (Abbot Pennings Council) announced the winners for the Knights of Columbus Culture of Life essay contest for our seventh and eighth graders.
The Knights sponsor this annual essay contest, which this year was expanded to include additional topics of adoption and mental health. Knight Porior, who previously led the ESL department at St. Norbert College was very impressed by the essays submitted by the students.
Students submitted essays on the following topics:
- abolishing abortion
- how bullying is terrible
- the possibilities of adoption
- adoption of adolescents
- mental disabilities in households
- mental and physical disabilities
- effects of drug abuse
- mental disorders in families
Each student received a certificate with a monetary gift.
We are proud to recognize the winners of the 2026 Culture of Life Essay Contest and appreciate the support from Knight Richard Porior and the Abbot Pennings Council.
