Helen Mears Art Contest

The Helen Mears Art Contest is sponsored by the Woman’s Club of De Pere as part of the General Foundation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC-WI) with district, and state level competitions. This annual art contest is for 7th and 8th grade students. The contest began in 1927 to honor the memory of Helen Mears, who was an Oshkosh born sculptor who encouraged artistic talent, and recognized student artists.

Our Lady of Lourdes School 6th-8th grade students participated in this art contest with the following students earning recognition:

  • Daniel – 2nd place in 2D
  • David – Honorable mention in 2D
  • JP – Honorable mention in 2D
  • Teddy – Honorable mention in 2D
  • Jeffrey – Honorable mention in 2D
  • Charlie – 1st place Digital
  • Aubrey – 2nd place Digital
  • Anthony – 3rd place Digital
  • Lauren – Honorable mention in digital
  • Abby – Honorable mention in digital

Congratulations students! The winning entries by 7th and 8th graders, Charlie, Aubrey and Anthony are advancing to the district judging and will be on display at the Oshkosh library.
