Parent-teacher conferences are a vital component of a child’s education. These conferences provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s academic progress, social development, and overall performance with their teachers. Data has shown that parent involvement in a child’s education can lead to better student achievement.
How can parents prepare for the parent/teacher conferences?
- Review your child’s work, grades, and progress reports.
- Review classroom and/or school newsletters.
- Talk with your child about their progress in school. Are you having a hard time with anything you are learning at school?
- What do you believe are your child’s strengths and challenges?
- Make a list of questions to ask during the conference.
- Think about ways you would like to be involved in your child’s learning so that you can discuss them with the teacher.
While we offer scheduled Fall and Spring parent-teacher conference dates to meet with your child’s teacher, if you have concerns, please contact the teachers at anytime.
