In math classes, you will often see the use of manipulatives to increase student interest and to help students understand key mathematics concepts.

While there are many manipulatives included in our math curriculum, Dominoes, a game you most likely have at home, can also assist with math concepts.

Some examples:
- Make a square with dominoes (each row and column must have the same total)
- Comparing tiles as fractions
- Making shapes and symmetry
- Multiplication activities and so much more!

Recently, these 5th graders were working with Mrs. Gale and Mrs. Mirao on a variety of math concepts using dominoes.

We invite you to play a game of dominoes and then try a few math challenges!
