We are celebrating 156 years of Catholic Education in West De Pere.

Checkout the many events that are scheduled for this week as we recognize those who support Catholic Education – Parishioners, School Families and Friends of Lourdes, Students, Faculty, School and Parish Staff and our Religious community (St. Norbert Abbey and the Diocese of Green Bay).

Join us for cookies and donuts after masses this weekend and checkout our STEM large-scale cardboard build inspired by Our Lady of Lourdes Church steeple and our Catholic history.

In addition, we have a Look and Seek that is part of the display. How many of the following items can you find? – Clock, Cavaliers, Cross, Bell and Fleur-de-lis

Our Lady of Lourdes Christmas Concert is Thursday, December 11.  The concert will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and will begin at 6:30 P.M.  All Kindergarten through 8th grade students are participating in the concert.    Everyone should also plan to stay for the entire concert.  All students are participating in the final numbers!

The evening will begin with instrumental performances by our school bands, followed by vocal performances by all grade levels.

We are less than two weeks away from the annual Light Up Lourdes event at Stadium View Event Hall. Proceeds from this event support our school.

Purchase your ticket for admission to the event, food and an opportunity to win $5,000, $2,000 or $1,000. Only 400 tickets will be sold. Ten (10) tickets will be drawn and you have the opportunity to choose one of the lights, if your light is one of the winning ‘specific’ colors – you win!

We invite you to checkout Light Up Lourdes to see some of the pottery creations from our classrooms and more regarding the event on Saturday, November 15.

While we enjoy the beauty of the sunshine through the trees with the many colors of red, orange and gold, we are learning with nature.

In kindergarten, the students had a Pumpkin Story Patch. They had fun reading books and then created their favorite character or part of the story using a pumpkin.

In first grade, they are reading books, writing stories, learning math concepts, math facts and learning how to solve word problems. They have a variety of items to assist students as they build their knowledge using blocks, disks, beads and during this time of year – leaves that have fallen from the trees!

There was also a pumpkin day activity that was a bit more messy with first grade, where they had a variety of math activities related to estimation, counting, sorting, grouping and much more using the messy ‘inside’ of a pumpkin.
