What is Your Vocation?

There are four Catholic vocations that we may be called to.

  • Single Life: Living as a committed, dedicated single person in the world to serve God and others
  • Priesthood: A calling to serve God’s people as a diocesan or religious-order priest.
  • Religious Life (Consecrated Life): Joining a religious institute, community, or order as a sister, nun, or religious brother.
  • Married Life: A lifelong, sacramental commitment of mutual love and service between a husband and wife.

The students in our school have many years before they will make a decision of their vocation, but during their time at Our Lady of Lourdes School we want to offer them a variety of opportunities to explore and learn about these vocations.

Throughout our school days, we are served by the Norbertines and learn from our interactions with them. We do know that many of the Norbertines were inspired to the priesthood when they were in elementary school!

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for whom we are associated consist of employees who serve in many of these Catholic vocations along with our parents, families and friends. What have you been called to do?

Recently, our eighth graders joined students from throughout the area to participate in Vocation’s Day at St. Mary’s in Appleton. May these experiences provide them a safe and prayerful environment in which to explore a call to religious life.

May these students be open to serve and explore wherever God is calling them to.
