Our students have the opportunity to learn Spanish as part of their school day. The classes begin in kindergarten with the duration and frequency increasing as they advance throughout the grades.
This week, the 6th graders were encouraged to demonstrate their Spanish speaking skills. They prepared a presentation introducing themselves and sharing information about their family, interests, friends and more. They wrote a script and after practicing, they shared their story, speaking in Spanish, without any notes.
As part of the the instruction, Mr. Roman arranged for their presentation to be recorded. While they were nervous to make a mistake while speaking in Spanish and be recorded, they did an excellent job telling their story using the nouns, pronouns, adjectives and verbs of the Spanish language.
Mr. Roman will be reviewing the videos with the students to offer suggestions as they continue to develop their Spanish speaking skills. The fluency they demonstrated while speaking was well done and we look forward to their continued progress in speaking Spanish.
